Located at the beginning of the Côte de Beaune , the vineyard of the Savigny-les-Beaune appellation is located north-west of Beaune in front of the Corton mountain. Although it covers almost 3,600 hectares, its production area is about 346 hectares, 87% of which are planted in Pinot Noir for the production of red wines, the remaining 45 hectares being planted in Chardonnay for the production of white wines. The use of Pinot Beurot remains too anecdotal to be able to really take it into account. The Savigny les Beaune appellation, which is relatively steep, sometimes consists of gravels, on the level of the alluvial cone of the small river Rhoin, sometimes composed of limestone, clay and sand. It goes without saying that the notion of Climats takes on its full meaning in the Savigny les Beaune appellation. Wines classified as Premier Cru represent almost 40% of total production.
